This tutorial would show you how to turn on or off system protection in Windows 8 to help you revert back to last used successful mode.

What is System Protection?

System protection is of vital importance for any operating system. Microsoft has been providing this feature ever since Windows XP to help revert changes back to normal in case anything goes wrong with the OS. System protection is a built-in feature of Windows that allows you to restore your system back to an earlier data and restore your settings without losing any important file. Sometimes, viruses and malware attack your OS and force you to uninstall it. At this point in time, it is recommended to restore your system back to an earlier date where it was working perfectly fine.

Why use System Protection?

System Protection is highly recommended to be used by every PC User. We do not recommend turning it off. Hardware and software crashes are always unwelcoming, unpleasant, yet unexpected regardless of the level of protection you have ensured in your system. This is a built-in feature that saves you from the hassle of reinstalling your entire operating system. In case you want to turn it off or on in Windows 8, here is how to do it:

1. StepGo to Control Panel

2. StepClick System

3. StepNow click System Protection in the top left corner

4. StepWe would recommend turning on the System protection feature for all partitions of your drives one by one. Click Configure for the drive you want to configure system protection for.

5. StepIf you want to enable system protection, click Turn on system protection and if you want to disable it, click Disable system protection. You can also adjust the hard disk space used by system protection by adjusting the slider.
