Are you wondering what the MCX1 user folder is? Here’s what it is and some details about the purpose.
Did you follow our guide to set up a Windows Media Center Extender to stream content? If so, it’s ok to have that folder
Open the Windows Explorer and go to C:\Users\, do you see a folder labeled Mcx1-username-PC ?
This folder is a special folder that is being used by the Windows Media Center whenever you add an extender. This is not a virus or anything fishy, the user account is used for networking purposes.
Have you accidentally deleted the MCX1 folder?
If you’ve already deleted the folder, your Windows Media Center extender will no longer work. Go trough the setup again and the folder should appear again, this time do not delete it
