SP1 is the 1st Service Pack update for Windows 7 that has introduced several new features. If you are not willing to keep it on your system and wish to uninstall it, you can do it easily by reading this tutorial. I would not recommend uninstalling it unless there are serious issues with the SP1 update.

Log in as an admin to uninstall SP1. Please note however, that if you have used the Windows 7 SP1 Disk Cleanup Tool in the past, you wouldn’t be able to uninstall it. Moreover, if your system shipped with an OEM version of Windows 7 SP1, you would still not be able to uninstall it. Here is the process:

1. StepPress Start, type in Programs and features and press Enter.

2. StepClick View Installed Updates in the left hand pane.

Click View Installed updates

3. StepNow browse on the right pane and click on Service Pack for Windows. When selected, click Uninstall in top pane to uninstall the updates.

Click Yes
