According to Seagate the speed of USB 3.0 is up to 3 times faster than USB 2.0. If you want high-speed files transfers, get USB 3.0!

USB 3.0 is up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0. Seagate has confirmed 100MB/sec transfer speeds for their external drive BlackArmor, so 25GB can now be transferred in 4 minutes instead of 13, making it three times faster. Sharing large files will become a lot easier.
